The New Revolution-Find Your Passion!

July 7th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

We need a revolutionEducation and the New Revolution

Sir Ken Robinson comes back again after 4 years on Ted.com with even more umph and ingenious humour. In his book, The Element and How finding you passion changes everything, Ken Robinson outlines how finding your passion in what you do is what makes you successful. His message is loud and clear: do not waste your time in doing what you do not like and instead search for the things that make you tick.

Find your Passion

Ken Robinson speaks of an Education Revolution and not an Evolution. ‘With a wry sense of humor, Ken Robinson looks at the conditions that enable us to find ourselves in the element and those that stifle that possibility. He shows that age and occupation are no barrier, and that once we have found our path we can help others to do so as well. The Element shows the vital need to enhance creativity and innovation by thinking differently about human resources and imagination. It is also an essential strategy for transforming education, business, and communities to meet the challenges of living and succeeding in the twenty-first century.’ See the full review HERE.

Understanding the New Revolution

In reference to Al Gore and the World Climate Crisis, Ken states that  ’there is a second climate crisis which is as severe and has the same origins and we have to deal with with the same urgency. That is the crisis of Human Resources. We are making very poor use of our talents. Many people do not think they are really good at anything. Many people do not enjoy what they do, they endure their lives and wait for the weekend.’

I was guilty of that! I roamed around, doing what others thought I should do without the tiny curiosity about my innate talents, because quite simply I thought I had none! Quite a ludicrous idea, we are all talented.

Then there are others who love what they do, because ‘it isn’t what they do its who they are. It speaks to their most authentic self. This speaks to the minority of people.’

So, how do we apply this Revolution (The Ken Robinson Way)?

  • Innovate fundamentally. The idea is that we have accustomed ourselves to doing things based on what we used to know. This may not apply to today and what we need to know. It just is not applicable. In other words, get with the times!
  • Understand that ‘Life is not linear, it is organic’. Which basically means that if you ‘follow the track’ you will achieve success. That is far from the truth, we are all different and what works for one person may not work for another. ‘We create our lives symbiotically as we explore our talents in relation to the circumstances they have created for us.’ ‘Human communities depend upon a diversity of talent and not a single conception of ability.’ Do your research and expose yourself  to the varying strategies towards success, however, remember that you will need to stick to the one that suits your character the most.
  • Conformity is a very big problem in our current state of human affairs. Be yourself is all I can say here. I see many people following in somebody else’s footsteps. Learn from the leaders in this industry and DO NOT clone them. Bring in your YOU in what you do.
  • And finally, passion is everything. What excites you? What makes you tick? What do you love doing, when does time fly? When you are doing what you love, you are doing it in the most perfect way because you are doing it in the most authentic way and unique to you.

‘Human flourishing is an organic process.’

I love Ken Robinson, big fan and if you haven’t seen his work begin with picking up a copy of ‘The Element’. A total must-read. I would love to share the talk with you, here it is:

Be Synonymous with Passion,

Thoughts Can Heal Your Body

June 27th, 2011 § 1 Comment

Thoughts Can Heal Your Body.

I am a huge BodyTalk fan. I have personally received the benefits, completed a BodyTalk Access course, use it on my family-including the kids and plan on completing my program to become a certified Practitioner. Because I love you all, I am eager to share the following article with you:

“By Robert Moss, PARADE Magazine

Our thoughts can make us sick, and they can help us get well.

That may seem like New Age thinking, but medical research increasingly supports the role played by the mind in physical health.

“People have been seeking healing through prayer and intention since Paleolithic times,” notes Dr. Herbert Benson, founder of the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. “What’s new is our detailed scientific knowledge of how the mind-body connection operates.”

Scientists first proved a link between stress and disease in the early half of the last century. Since then, researchers have examined old and new practices–including biofeedback, meditation, guided imagery, spiritual healing and deep breathing. The fast-expanding field of psychoneuroimmunology, which examines how the neurological and immune systems interact, is providing new clinical evidence of the connection between thoughts and health.

“We now can measure changes in immune cells and the brain in ways that give us objective scientific proof of the connection between them,” says Mary Jo Kreitzer, director of the Center for Spirituality & Healing at the University of Minnesota.

Some people still are surprised to discover that thoughts can control physical sensation. “The body responds to mental input as if it were physically real,” explains Larry Dossey, a physician and an advocate for mind-body study since the 1980s. “Images create bodily changes–just as if the experience were really happening. For example, if you imagine yourself lying on a beach in the sun, you become relaxed, your peripheral blood vessels dilate, and your hands become warm, as in the real thing.”

Similarly, under clinical hypnosis, someone who is told he is being touched by a red-hot object often will produce a burn blister, even though the object touching him was at room temperature.

Brain scans show that when we imagine an event, our thoughts “light up” the areas of the brain that are triggered during the actual event. Sports psychologists have done pioneering work in this area. In one study, skiers were wired to EMG monitors (which record electrical impulses sent to the muscles) while they mentally rehearsed their downhill runs. The skiers’ brains sent the same instructions to their bodies whether they were doing a jump or just thinking about it.

The “placebo effect” is an example of how the connection between brain and body works in healing. It has been demonstrated that when a patient believes something will relieve pain, the body actually releases endorphins that do so. In a recent study, Parkinson’s patients who were given fake surgery or fake drug treatments produced dopamine (a chemical their bodies lack) in quantities similar to those they might have received in a genuine intervention. Medical research has suggested that 30% to 70% of successful treatments may be the result of the patient’s belief that the treatment will work.

“There is ample evidence that negative thoughts and feelings can be harmful to the body,” says Lorenzo Cohen, director of the Integrative Medicine Program at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Stress is known to be a factor in heart disease, headaches, asthma and many other illnesses.

Studies by Janice Kiecolt-Glaser and Ronald Glaser at Ohio State University demonstrate how even minor psychological stress–that of newlyweds having their first fight or of students facing an exam–can compromise the immune system. The researchers found that a marital spat delays wound-healing and that the stress of caring for an Alzheimer’s patient leaves the caregiver more vulnerable to illness even years later.

When the body fights a virus or heals a wound, it releases cyto–kines (literally, “moving cells”)–chemical messengers that call in immune agents. The Glasers’ research showed that stress distracts these cytokines from doing their proper work, instead sending them ranging wildly through the bloodstream. “When the cyto-kines are misdirected,” says Kiecolt-Glaser, “they produce something you don’t want–a prolonged inflammatory response that far exceeds what is needed with infection.”

Just as our thoughts can make us ill, they also can help us heal, say those who practice mind-body therapies. There is growing clinical evidence that imagery is beneficial in treating skin disease, diabetes, breast cancer, arthritis, headaches and severe burns, among other conditions. Imagery also has been helpful in managing pain. “The mind is our most potent weapon in the battle for health,” says Lyn Freeman, a researcher of mind-body therapies for chronic diseases. “It can be both slayer and healer.”

What To Do?

Adjust your mind-set to promote good health:

  • Take a deep breath. Hold it, exhale, then repeat for 10 minutes. Take a walk, preferably in nature. Breathe in the fresh air.
  • Laugh! When you do, you pump more oxygen into your lungs, improve blood flow and boost your immune system.
  • Keep a journal. Writing about emotionally charged events helps us deal with them mentally and physically.”

The Secret, My Thoughts & Cesar Millan

June 23rd, 2011 § Leave a Comment

The Law of Attraction is quite simple.

We know how to do it when we are young but as the ‘real world’ kicks in, we begin to lose that ability and it gets replaced with a distorted reality of self-doubt, withering faith and chasing rainbows. But not you…because you are…in the ‘new‘ space as David Wood describes it. And I applaud you Smile.

The Law of Attraction simply states that your thoughts become your reality. However, in saying thoughts, those have to be crystal clear and its only when there is a conflict that the reality of this attraction becomes questionable. You see in your world there is only one consciousness and that is YOU. You are responsible for everything that happens in your life and yes, even the bad stuff-don’t shoot me!!!

Your inner beliefs, wants and definitions for everything around you stems from YOU. That becomes your reality and the further away from your higher self you drift, the more difficult it becomes to connect with your core and find the clarity of your true desires. We are in living in a difficult world right now where honesty, unconditional love and responsibility have become a scarcity. We have forgotten the true essence of our very existence and, instead, replaced it with an abundance of material gains and physical limitations.

Your success is quite simply reliant on the very notion of the state of your consciousness. How much do you believe in YOU and your success? How badly do you want what you dream of? And, what is it that you are thinking of? What are YOUR thoughts that will be turning into reality? Because ultimately, you are totally responsible for your life and the beauty is if you know how to dream big and be quite clear on the players, the script and the setting; there is no stopping you from here.

So, I met Cesar last week but I am also the mother of two amazing kids, a wife to the most supportive and loving husband I can ever dream of and daughter to the most inspirational parents. Today, I am a successfully independent woman on an amazing spiritual journey and most of all I AM HAPPY.

Never let anyone tell you about you. You are beautiful in every inch of you, so allow that beauty to show you the way to your personal and professional success.

Much love,

The Art of Holding Space

The Art of Holding Space

Be Present

If you are not familiar with Rodolfo Young, then find the time to research the work he has done. A recognized international leader in the realm of consciousness, Rodolfo has shared the stage with great authors like Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson. He is a healer and a renowned teacher. In speaking about the Art of holding space, he begins by describing it as the ‘place deep within us that when we listen, not just with our ears but with our hearts-we start to feel that AUTHENTIC core.’ The authentic core is that place where we all connect as one, we are all the same as one another, we are complete, we are pure.

I want to touch on this topic of holding space because connection is very dear to my heart. In a world where humankind is losing its innate ability to communicate with one another, it is being replaced with gadgets and devices and technological reminders. The result is loneliness, despair and confusion. The importance of holding space is core to our very existence and our understanding of who we are. Connection is the only thing that remains, the only permanent thing is-as Rodolfo puts it-the ‘significance of life’. Objects, people, places etc… may change but the connection we had always remains. We leave an imprint on the places we visit, the things we do and the people we meet. The players may change but the energy remains the same. That is called Holding Space.

So, how do you Hold Space then?

The importance of connectedness comes in the art of being present. As in being in the PRESENT state, not in your past and nor in your future. Being present is-in all totality-being here, right HERE, right NOW with every aspect of your being. If we are not actually here, we quite simply cannot connect. If you are in the past, you are too caught up with what was to enjoy what is. And if you are focused more on the future, then you will miss the beauty of what today brings. Be in the moment. And, more importantly, take out the expectations from your mind and focus on this very moment to be able to experience and share the beauty of this present state.

Once you are able to see past the Masks that we wear and the Stories that we tell, the way that we present ourselves according to our pre-existing beliefs and  and the rules that we have set for ourselves-only then are you able to find your Space.

Rodolfo Young

Rodolfo Young

“Our first encounter was quite brief, a single breath inhaled. Like this angel came to me and changed my entire world. In fact, as I reflect it dawned on me that I have had countless encounters with grateful beings. I realized that I had been surrounded all my life by similar bright whites. These angels simply asking that we trust, that we hear, that we let our hearts shout forth beyond all our fears. These, like a million raindrops, falling into a pond and in the moment of first contact, an expression ripples out. This is connection flowing forth across a million angels hands”-Rodolfo Young

So, think of these things: think of your bright whites and be grateful for the encounters you are having right now with the angels :D .

Sending love to your space,

Head over heels for Hemp Hearts

Head over heels for hemp hearts

Hemp Seeds

Increase your protein options with Hemp.

“If you’ve heard of hemp, you’ve probably heard of it as a green-friendly cotton substitute (hemp T-shirts, etc.) or as a braided rope wrapped around some shells to make a necklace, usually worn by the “Cali Girl” or “Surfer Dude” types. One thing you probably don’t know about hemp is how amazing it is for you. Hemp Hearts or shelled hemp seeds, are the cure for what ails you, pretty much no matter what that ailment happens to be.

Hemp hearts are a recent discovery of the health-conscious and they are somewhat of a miracle food. They are good for promoting weight loss and easy digestions and counteracting arthritis, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, diabetes, allergies and chronic fatigue – yes, seriously. Hemp Hearts are the way to kick your health regimen, diet, whatever, into high gear!

How do I include Hemp Hearts in my diet?

Including Hemp Hearts in your diet is a breeze. These little seeds are nearly tasteless, odorless and just 3 – 4 spoonfuls a day is all it takes to get the maximum health benefits that they can give you on their own. Combining them with a healthy lifestyle, plenty of exercise and good diet will do you one better!

What about Hemp Hearts is so good?

Hemp Hearts have a high level of protein and perfect balance of amino acids, Omega 3, Omega 6, vitamins and essential fats. It is vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, sugar free and friendly to those with nut allergies. Eating Hemp in the morning will help keep you fuller and more energetic for longer and will keep working for you on a nutritional level throughout the day, helping with energy, digestion and general nutrition.

One thing to watch out for with hemp is that there are 250 calories in the recommended 4 tablespoons. This makes it a low calorie food – anything under 300 is considered “low cal,” and all 250 calories are packed with good stuff, but if you are on a diet that has you counting calories or something similar, you should be aware of this.

The easiest way to maximize the health benefits of hemp is to stir the 4 tablespoons into yogurt, cereal, smoothies, salads, stir fry or something similar -essentially eating them raw. If this doesn’t suit you – maybe you’re texture sensitive. If this is the case, there are some great recipes for hemp breads, pastas, meats and cookies.

Hemp cookies

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In the microwave, melt ¼ cup butter in a ceramic or glass mixing bowl (or on the stove in a saucepan). This should only take 30 seconds or so. Then, mix in 1/3 cup golden brown sugar with one small egg (lightly beaten) with the melted butter. In a separate bowl, mix ¼ cup flour, ½ teaspoon cinnamon and ½ cup hemp hearts. Mix thoroughly. Then add your dry ingredients to your wet ones and beat until mixed but lumpy. Next, spoon dollops of the dough onto a nonstick cookie sheet. Bake them until they are golden brown and crisp on the edges.”

The 4 Elements to Mastering Influence

June 15th, 2011 § 1 Comment

Mastering Influence is key to becoming a successful professional or a valuable human-being. To have influence is something we should all master. How much do you know about each one of the following skills? And how many would you place within your forte?

http://www.suhasagban.com

Mastering Influence

  1. Build Rapport. In order to master influence, you must learn how to build rapport. This cannot be emphasized enough. When building rapport with someone, you are creating an emotional connection with them. No matter what medium you are using, online or offline communication, they need to know they you feel what they feel. Find a mutual interest, let them know that you are like them. Let them feel that you have their interest in mind by giving value, be genuine about it. This allows you to build trust.

  2. Know your market. Know who you are speaking to by either speaking their language, connect with them, research them or by simply becoming them. Through hands-on experience, you are able to achieve more influence. Gain direct experience with their pain, struggles or aspirations.

  3. Ask questions and listen. The skill of asking questions is an amazing tool when dealing with people. In general, people have a need to be heard and find it very difficult to listen. So, be sure to listen to what your prospect is saying by speaking less and asking more questions. This will allow you to dig in deeper into their pain and their struggles to find a way to provide them with a solution and become more valuable to them. The two main motivators for our actions are either a) to reduce pain or b) to increase pleasure. The latter is the most prevalent condition.

  4. Congruency and this is my favorite. To master influence, you need to be authentic and everything about you is in line with what you are doing. Be sure to be present-your voice, tone, body language and energy must all feel 110% with what you are doing or saying. Your prospect must feel confident and absolutely certain about the choices they are making with you so you need to believe in YOU 110%.

It is little tips like these that have the most powerful effect in anything that you do. Be sure to surround yourself with the resources and tools you need to succeed. Find out more about FREE training and daily motivation by clicking HERE.

To the masterful influencer in you,

The Joy of Anger

This Article from IBA resonated so well with me that I was compelled to share with all of you.

“The Joy of Anger

Jun 10, 2011

By Amy Walls CPTS, CYFI, FNP, CBP (Regina, SK)

Anger is a natural emotion, one that unfortunately today we tend to suppress. The harm of suppressing anger is indeed a dangerous pathway to take. Anger is a healthy emotion; it is vital to move our body and is responsible for the flight/fight response. Suppressed anger can lead to fear and rage, and unnecessary stress. The stress of this kind of suppressed anger, (where we go into “coping”) for 5 minutes could potentially be more dangerous to us than being in a car accident!

Anger needs to move, bottom line! Anger helps move other emotions as well. Very often we see fear being stuffed beneath that anger. So if Anger can help move other emotions, then our perception needs to shift of this emotion.

What would happen if you embraced your anger, listened to it, asked it why it’s there? What if
the next time you felt yourself getting angry, and wanted to react (inwardly or outwardly), you just took
a second to breathe into it. Could you actually fully express anger in a healthy and vital way?

How can you express anger in a healthy and vital way? Remember anger needs to move, so what kind
of movement can you do to experience your anger? Don’t think too hard, just feel. Do what comes
naturally to you. You just might surprise yourself.

Anger is a healthy emotion; there is nothing wrong with it. The only thing wrong is the attachment we have to anger and not being able to let it move through us. Why won’t you let it move? What are you really holding on to? What is the fear that’s holding you back?”

How the ‘Pack’ Mentality can lead us to success and happiness

June 7th, 2011 § 1 Comment

Anyone who knows me has witnessed by excitement and pure love towards Cesar Millan. I have been following Cesar for many years now, having read his books and heard his messages, he will never cease to amaze me. It is only expected that Eckhart Tolle requests a talk with him and here is the beauty behind the 3-part interview. As I watch Cesar in action, I cannot stop myself from realizing how similar the lessons humans need to learn. Lessons such as:

  1. never work against mother nature.
  2. our passive future and active memory from the past is what keeps us from moving forward and taking control of NOW.
  3. balance is key to success; a calm-assertive state of being is just as important to our human world as it is in the canine world.
  4. it is important to understand what truly makes you happy. With that you are able to achieve balance.
  5. know how to awaken your consciousness because you are otherwise ASLEEP.
  6. being non-reactive is an important and humbling lesson. ‘remain in the energy field of the present’-that is key to ultimate consciousness.
  7. love is the most empowering emotion and has become the least important in our newer societies. Cesar eloquently says ‘the power of the woman is love and when a woman doesn’t receive it or is acknowledged by showing this…the woman’s biggest power is not available to us’. If that is not the truth, then I don’t know what is. Napoleon also said ‘a happy woman is a conquered woman.’ I say ‘a happy woman is a happy home…’
  8. ‘If humans learn to fulfill the needs of anybody they will be in a relationship. There will be communication, reality, affinity and integration happens naturally.’
  9. ‘We are in a world where we need more hope and we need to practice forgiveness.’ Stay hopeful and teach love, towards our process in giving hope to humanity.

I have witnessed many, many, many (for lack of a better word) ‘spoilt’ children growing into ‘self-destructive’ adolescents and ultimately become empty souls of despair and unhappiness. We have lost our balance in this world and our connection with each other. We live in a world of mistrust and separation. We have forgotten how to love. We doubt our very existence. In the same way that Cesar rehabilitates dogs; we need to spend some thought on his teaching:

A balanced state of mind is key to happiness. Happiness is key to connection and worldliness. Rewarding an imbalanced state of mind with love is destructive. Gaining trust is the first step towards a healthy society. Respect is the second and ultimately love is what cements us all together.

Sending my love into the world for the serendipitous moment of connecting me with a good soul yesterday who, I know, has lots to share with me. Thank you Tarek Bibi.

To your extraordinary lives…

What is your picture?

June 6th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

It is June 6th, 2011 and just like every Monday, my mentor Richard Dolan from http://liferich.ca/ is once again motivating me with his weekly 11 am calls. Today’s topic comes at the most opportune time as I dig deeper into my business and soak my feet with this 100 days business challenge. For those who don’t know about the 100 day Business Builder Challenge-lets just say…watch this space :) .

PARADIGM TIME is the terminology he used to describe the reality that TIME is a non-renewable resource. Every second of every day of every month counts towards the YOU that you are creating. In Network Marketing, time management is essential and non-negotiable. When you are in the business of selling yourself, know that no-one can do it better than you can and the reality is no-one will sell you other than you. This is your world and the question you must ask yourself is ‘when was the last time you had a momentum run?’.

Personal Development is a given to stay motivated and focused on the task at hand. Mind-set is everything when reaching out into the world and asking for the things that you want. However, stop and think about what it is that you really, really want? Books have been written about this topic and miraculous lives are testimony to its reality. So, what is your reality? In trying to answer that, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What business am I really in? What do I really want to achieve? Be clear about what you are trying to achieve. My friend Richard describes it beautifully by using the word SEIZE as in truly hold onto and OWN your life, business and your achievements.
  2. How do I communicate that? How loud is the music that you are playing?

So, if personal freedom is what you really want, be aware of the fact that it does come at a price. The price is your time, you must take full responsibility of the seconds that are passing by you as the world gets smaller and the next person reaches that finish line. Play the game and play it well. As I quote Richard “Play for the shot, put some scores on the scoreboard.”. Try not to lose yourself in the process and if you do, ask yourself what are you playing for? Do not doubt yourself, because as soon as you are clear and focused, that path becomes so beautifully paved for you that walking on it is no longer a threat.

Remember that once you are truly clear and intentional on what you want, the world begins to give it back. “Become a vigorous and masterful expert in the space you are in…”

To your extraordinary success,

Suha

Top 12 Vitamins for Women

June 3rd, 2011 § Leave a Comment

How much Vitamins do I need? What are they? and what is te recommended dose? There are confusing for many. Read the following article from The Health Local Staff.

“With so many vitamins out there it’s hard to know which we really need. Learn more about each vitamins function, and how much you need daily.

Have you ever stopped to wonder why there are different multivitamins designed for men and women? This is because men and women’s bodies need different things to stay strong and healthy. While we share many organs in common with men, we have a few of our own that need different attention that generic “one-a-day” dietary supplements don’t address. Women in particular have a few common deficiencies that occasionally cause us some health troubles. As with most nutrients, these vitamins work best if you can get them in your food (they’re more natural and are absorbed more readily), but if not, make sure your daily supplement regimen contains the daily value that your body needs.

Calcium and Vitamin D
Vitamin D and Calcium work together to keep your bones strong. Vitamin D actually acts as a hormone, helping your bones and body absorb the calcium it needs. Foods rich in Calcium and Vitamin D are fish, dairy products, soymilk (must indicate that it has both D and Calcium added) and cereal. You can also get Vitamin D from a healthy dose of sunlight. This is especially important for older women to aid in the prevention of osteoporosis.
Recommended Daily Value: Calcium: 1000 mg, Vitamin D: 5 µg (micrograms)

Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E a.k.a. the Antioxidant Vitamins
These vitamins are essential in fighting sickness, disease and the appearance of aging. They play a key role in the process of protecting your cells and doing battle against free radicals whose only mission is to bring down your health. It is great to surplus these vitamins when you are stressed or not getting enough sleep. They will kick your immune system into high gear so you run a lower chance of getting sick. Other vitamins in this category are the Carotenoids and Retinol. Easy food sources from which to get your daily dose of the Antioxidant Vitamins are carrots, grapefruit, peppers, coffee, green leafy vegetables, peanut butter and safflower oil.
Recommended Daily Value: Vitamin A: 600 µg, Vitamin C: 75 mg, Vitamin E: 10 mg

Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 gives a major boost to your metabolism and your brain function. Deficiency of Vitamin B6 is very rare, because it is so common in various foods. Cereal, Oatmeal, whole grains, green leafy vegetables, myriad nuts, avocados, bananas and meats are all good sources of Vitamin B6.  Deficiency has been known to occur in older women, but because this is one of the few water soluble vitamins that it is possible to overdose on, absolutely consult a Doctor before starting on any supplements for it.
Recommended Daily Value: 2 mg

Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is a metabolism booster. It also helps in the processes of cell division and protein synthesis. Vitamin B12 is likely to be readily present in your normal diet. It can be found in eggs, meat, fish and dairy products. Women over 50 tend to have difficulty absorbing vitamins as readily through eating alone. It is recommended, especially with Vitamin B12, that women over 50 take a supplement to ensure proper absorption is taking place.
Recommended Daily Value: 6 µg

Iron
Iron is an important player in the production of red blood cells. Iron deficiency, which is common in women, and especially vegetarian women, can cause low energy, or even anemia. Iron can be found in red meat, beans, dark green vegetables and tofu. If you suffer from low-energy and fatigue, ask your doctor to test your blood for iron, so if your body is low, you can get a supplement if you need it.
Recommended Daily Value: 18 mg

Folate/Folic acid
As well as aiding the development in the central nervous system, Folate is essential in the process of making DNA and RNA. Folate also helps prevent irregularities in DNA that can cause cancer and anemia. Deficiency is most prominent, and unfortunately, most dangerous in pregnant women. If you are pregnant, it is likely that the prenatal vitamins you’re on have some extra folic acid in them. If you’re worried, ask your consulting physician. Food sources rich in folate are dark greens like spinach and asparagus, eggs, and beans.
Recommended Daily Value: 400 µg

Vitamin K
Vitamin K helps keep strong bones strong and helps maintain normal blood clotting as you age. For this reason, it is important that older women get enough Vitamin K. Foods containing Vitamin K include leafy dark green veggies like spinach, broccoli and alfalfa sprouts.
Recommended Daily Value: 80 µg”
